Civil Engineering and Building Construction Group
The members of the Civil Engineering and Building Construction Group include architects and building engineers. They provide for a full range of civil engineering and building construction services for industry, commercial enterprises and the service sector, including housing and special structures. They are also involved in loss adjustment evaluations in connection with damage or loss caused by fire, explosions, storms, and ruptured pipes in addition to third-party liability claims.
The surveys and assessments performed by BTE construction experts of the insurable values of buildings, structures and facilities are of decisive significance for the insured and underwriters alike, particularly when claims are involved.
The expertise services provided by BTE members extend to cost estimates, construction costing and fee accountings, in addition to the conservation of evidence and construction measures. Specialists clarify individual issues, e.g. inspect foundations, perform structural analyses and furnish stability proofs.
One focus of their work is appraising improved and non-improved property to determine its market value as well as verifying the standard values of property for tax assessment purposes.
Many members of the Civil Engineering and Building Construction Group are members of regional expert and loss adjuster commissions as provided for by the German Building Act.
Being experienced authorities in their fields, BTE construction experts serve as expert witnesses and render expert opinions for courts, government authorities and the private sector, i.e. insurance companies, banks, commercial enterprises, housing construction companies, and home and building owners.
