Indispensable Experts
Independent, highly qualified experts have played a key role in Germany’s legal and insurance system for many years now. Being impartial experts and consultants, bound only by their conscience and reputation, they assist clients in the public and private sector — frequently insurance companies and the insured themselves — in loss evaluation and adjustment claims.
The profound change which Europe is currently undergoing also means new tasks for experts and loss adjusters, these tasks making exacting demands with regard to expertise and sense of responsibility. That is why experts are needed who go to every effort to perfect their knowledge and keep it up to date and who are only bound by the matter at hand when bringing their knowledge and experience to bear.
Since its founding in 1924, the Bund Technischer Experten or BTE (i.e. Association of Technical Experts) has committed itself to this obligation. In so doing, it has become Germany's association of leading experts, a highly specialized team of mechanical and electrical engineers, construction engineers and architects, business and economics specialists, physicists and chemists.
The BTE is a guarantee of impartial professional expertise, consistently fostered by demanding admission requirements, ongoing advanced training and education, and the active exchange of ideas and findings in its various specialist groups. Each and every member vouches with his or her name and standing for competence and reputability, concepts for which the designation "BTE Expert" stands.
The wide range of tasks and the high value of property on which the BTE Experts render their expert advice and findings year in, year out are proof of the economic significance of the BTE's work.
